Greetings,
I'm looking to increase my experience levels with PHP and MySQL by working on various projects for a discounted rate.
I'm an experienced programmer and analyst and have managed several large projects on other platforms, just not any with a web-site as the focus. While not a DBA with SQL, I am experienced with SQL and many aspects of the DBA job.
I have been doing some 'pro-bono' work on the
Baseball Almanac website. Take a look at
a statistics page (for Hank Aaron). From this page click on any name in any of the main areas to be taken to other dynamic pages for Hitting and Pitching statistics, and Team Rosters. In the Fast Facts section at the bottom you can click on a link taking you to a page showing other players who first played in the same league and year.
Look at
this thread to see what the owner of Baseball Almanac had to say after my first bit of work for him.
Also, I'm new at this business of self-promotion (it even feels a bit embarassing), so any tips on do's, don'ts, and where, when, and how would be appreciated.
Thanks & hope to hear from y'all.
