Frontpage 98

I am new to web designs but have created a webpage with MS Frontpage 98. I would like to launch as soon as possible. Can anyone help to guide me through the process.

Thanks

Hi Nicure, welcome to the forums!

I have never used FrontPage before, but if you have created at html file (a file with the extension .htm, .html, or .shtml), you need to get it online by FTP. Do you have an account with FutureQuest (or Susogi.net or Lils.net)? If so, check your activation letter for more info on how to get at your account. If not, you need to get one before you can put your page online.

There are FTP tutorials for FutureQuest at aota.net . An easy-to-use FTP program that has a tutorial there is CuteFTP which is available for trial download at www.cuteftp.com .

I hope this helps. Perhaps someone who has used FrontPage will be able to help you more.

Hi and welcome here,

I think, MS has a tool for that on their website. It should be called "Web Publisher" or so. Get it and try to upload your pages to your account.
This publishing tool will warn you if you're using FrontPage features not supported by FQ.

Nic:

The Web Publishing Wizard should be included with FP98. To Publish do the following from the FP explorer:

1. File|Publish Front Page Web...
2. Select More Webs...
3. Type the url of your site in the text box (http://www.whatever.com)
4. When prompted for a name and password, enter those provided to you by FQuest.

FP98 should connect and begin uploading your pages.

Rich,

Have you personally used/verified this feature of FP???

If so that's GREAT TO KNOW because I've had a problem getting my FP to cooperate with me to test it (I forgot the password I gave frontpage webs when I first used it and have not figured out what to do if the main user forgets their pw???? haven't asked terra yet)

If you have etc... we could get this added to the FAQ and help areas...

Let me know...
Thanks
Deb
