Questions on secure servers.

I have been doing a lot of reading in the FAQ and BBS. A lot of information packed in there. But I still have a few questions about this secure server stuff.

I like the idea that the transmitted data is encrypted. I would like to play around with this on my "hobby" site. Maybe protect the member system or something. Just to get the feel of this for future use.
I plan to use the shared cert.

1) So using the shared cert, My URL for the protected areas is going to be http://something.futurequest.net/xmydomain? Correct?  Does my site stay on TAZ or does it get move to another server?(I an't leaving TAZ )

2) I get another CGI-BIN correct? CGI-SSI?

3) I am really foggy in the area of of where I place the files to be put under the secure server. Do I get another directory? /secure/something?

Thanks for all the help!
