*grumble*

Stupid Sony ate it's little hard drive... Took it out, moved the bigger HDD over, reformatted and went to re-install everything (except with Win98 in place of 95). Most everything went okay, but now the blippin Zip drive wont work When I run the install program it goes to a normal looking install screen, then it does one of those "illegal operation and will be shut down" things on me *grrrr*

The same zip drive and the same install program work fine on my box (the old Compaq P90, with win98) but not on the P166 with Win98... I just can't leave the Zip on my box, cause (hopefully) it will soon be running Linux exclusively, and we'll want the Zip on Julie's box cause she uses it all the time, and I don't.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Del
(at least it works again, so we have the 'net back, finally)

Is this a SCSI or another type of Zip?  With the SCSI version, you don't really need the Zip drivers at all.

Charles,

It's the external, parallel port, ugly purple/blue thing.

It's highly annoying because it worked before on the Sony, before 'upgrading' to Win98... But, it still works fine on the other Win98 box. The port itself is fine (I assume) because that's where the printer is hooked up, and the printer has no problems.

Time to cause a crash again - what does it say in the extra info box?  I'd need the address and the program/dll that caused the crash/was crashed.
