WebTrends

Can anyone post a brief tutorial on setting up WebTrends to work on FQ's servers?

Binky:

I won't attempt to tell you how to set up WT on a UNIX box, as I have never done it (plenty of Window$ installations though). I have found it much easier on the soul to simply set up a local copy of WT. FTP your log files down on a daily/weekly basis and run your report locally. Give it a try if all else fails. Reverse domain lookups could be problematic without a dedicated connection.

Cheers

Terra put a perl script somewhere that converted the ELF logfiles to the DLF format which WebTrends could read...  Of course, that doesn't automatically make WebTrends able to read the log files...  Then again, shoving 500+ megs of logs at it at once might not be a good idea.....  *looks off*

Everyone was converted to the DLF format due to the popular demand for it... no one is on the ELF anymore so that part is solved

Hey I seem to remember something like Terra mentioning you folks were going to or at least thinking about changing stat programs.  Am I wrong? And if not what's the status on that?

He is still working toward a dedicated stats server but after evaluating the options of various programs, what they offer, and what the site owners want, he decided to convert the log files to the DLF format so that those who did not like the stats currently offered could utilize the logs to use whatever stats they wanted.
