Successful move ?

Terra,
Did the move go well last night ? It would appear so from this end. The forums here this AM are loading faster than I've ever seen before. Nice job

Hello;
When I traceroute to futurequest, I still get the sprintlink hops. Is this due to the transition period.
Thanks.

We are temporarily directly connected to the Sprintlink backbone while awaiting the "go" to hook up to the UUnet/alter.net backbone.

This should be within the next two weeks....

Deb,
Do you expect FQuest to be as fast as it is now after plugging into UUnet ?

Dean.

All indications point to yes... we'll of course not know for sure until we are hooked up but I foresee everything on FQuest doing nothing but improving over the rest of this year... from hardware, to highspeed lines, to location, to connection....

When you hook up to the new network,
are you going to be hooked up using telecom
lines again or directly ?

We will be utilizing a CLEC for our connection... This provides us with an advantage over the Telco's because the CLEC is smaller and more responsive to problems and needs...

If you want a sneak peek of our new path, run a traceroute to '209.192.41.1' as this will be our new block...

There are a few more details to be ironed out on this path, as one of the DeltaCom hops has a glitch in it that is being repaired... This new connection reduces the number of hops, unlike what SprintLink imposes on us...

All in all, this will help me to sleep better at night knowing that our hardware and connectivity are solid...
