UBB freeware -- where to delete a post?

I want thank everyone who is taking the time to help me get the cgi scripts up and running on my site. I find more help in these forums than I can find in 2 hours of searching the web. 'Nuther question.
In the UBB freeware version, where (which file(s)) can/must you delete a post from?

Edit/pruning of messages is not available in the freeware version. Unless of course you go in and physically edit the pages. Ask Justin, he's implemented a lot of changes to his freeware UBB.

hehe - thanks. If you want to delete ALL posts from a particular forum, you can go into that forum's directory and delete everything inside of it. For example,

/big/dom/xflowersource/ubb/Forum1

UBB will re-create the files in there. You can delete the .../Forum1/HTML directory. It will recreate that too.

Of course, if you only need to delete one post, you're SOL with the free version. But I'm assuming you want to delete the test posts, so that's what I'd do before making it public.

Actually, you can delete just one post manually, and if this is needed, throw me an email and I'll explain - there's 3 files to edit and one to delete. Not exactly point and click like the paid version. Let me know.

Justin comes through again! I will lease the full version if I see that it is useful as I think that it will be, Meanwhile, you answered the question. I'll go the easy route when I need to edit, not the 3 file route. I've spent a while this morning reading yours and Del's posts regarding UBB/code...it has been a great help.

I was just wondering if this UBB Board is still the Freeware version or if it is now the Full Version.  Because I would like to know if anybody has actually done any editing to the UBB code to add Message Editing and Pruning.  I know that your board seems to have this function and I was wondering if you coded it in or if you bought the full board.  If anyone could reply to this please do so but I don't know if I could check back or if I will remember.  So someone please email me at: samurix@hotmail.com with some information.  I would like to get my own UBB board running with some added options but I'm not any good with Perl.

However, it (now) says &quot;Modifications of any kind to the Freeware Version code are strictly prohibited&quot; so that makes it pretty much useless (no edit, no admin message removal, no styles/colors change, and no search I think.)  The freeware UBB is really just to check your server before buying it.

If you're asking about &quot;this board&quot;, the Aota UBB is the full version with some improvements I believe.

If you don't have an extra $200, go with IkonBoard at http://www.ikondiscussion.com

Edit: as of UBB 6.0 being released, the demo-only quality of the free version is further enforced by a limit of 1000 page views and 30 registered members.  But Ikonboard still provides a 'better-than-ever' free alternative if you dont have the $$$
