strange broken images

I have written a simple query handler to search my database (search.php) on my site, www.guitartricks.com . When I type a query into the searchbox on my page, the page returned has broken images in the ad banners. When I hardcode that query into a link, the ad images show up.

I have a link on my page
http://www.guitartricks.com/2000/search.php?input=easy

When clicked, this returns a page with ad images.
When I type 'easy' into the searchbox, the ad images are broken.

This happens on IE5, but not netscape. Does anybody know what my problem is?

the ads are coming from two companies, musicvision and adknowledge, and they react uniformly. So, I think it is my fault, not the ad companie's.

Could just be my browser, so I appreciate the IE5.5 feedback.
