FutureQuest is pleased to announce that effective immediately the
file size limits for email messages has been increased to 35 MB total (allows for an approximate 25 MB attachment depending on encoding) file size.
All accounts can receive messages up to 35 MB in total size and all
Genesis Class packages can send messages up to 35 MB in size. (Due to legacy issues, packages hosted on the Phoenix and Enigma Class servers can send messages only up to 15 MB. The Server Info page in your
CNC will indicate the class of your current server and allow you to request a free upgrade to a Genesis Class server.)
Also please note that messages with large attachments which are sent to multiple addresses may be treated as bulk, low-priority messages and shunted to the bulk mail server to prevent mail queue backups. This may mean a delay when sending such emails. Therefore, it is best when sending large emails (over 5MB) to send them to as few recipients as possible,
FTP is still a much more efficient method of moving large files.
When sending messages to an external network it is possible that a large email may exceed the limits set by the receiving network and be dropped, or rejected.
You can limit the size of individual messages that any email account can receive from your CNC Email Manager - Built In Filters - Maximum Message Size Filter, if desired.
