Do DS-IRMs and IRO's play together?

Here's my question in a nutshell:

1) www.maindomain.com has an DS-IRM that directs www.maindomain.com/sub/ to sub.maindomain.com.

2) If an IRO were added to the account, say IROdomain.com, would sub.IROdomain.com work? And if so, would this be able to use MySQL if something like wordpress were installed in the /sub/ directory? It looks like IRO's and DS-IRMs don't violate the TOS when it comes to MySQL.

I'm trying to figure out the most efficient path from my current setup to a wordpress website my wife would like to build...

Thanks!
