files vs. pages

Could someone help a newbie? Using NVU and Futurequests "file manager" I have published some updates to a few of my files and for some reason the web page still shows the old file, but when I view the file, the HTML code shows the updated file?

Re: files vs. pages

You are probably looking at a cached copy. Try holding the shift key and clicking reload.

Re: files vs. pages

Possibly your browser is caching the old file. Try and force a browser reload/refesh by using SHIFT+reload, CTRL+F5 (or in some cases Shift+CTRL+Reload) and see if the new content appears.

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, that didn't do it.

Re: files vs. pages

I got it work with CTRL & F5 after several attempts. Is this something I need to do whenever I update pages, or does it usually update automatically?

Re: files vs. pages

It should refresh without much difficulty, are you using IE or Firefox? If IE I would recommend downloading FireFox and trying that browser.

It is possible your ISP may employ persistent caching as well. I found this very clear explanation regarding both cache methods which you may find of interest.
