Importing email addresses into ezMLM

I'm new to exMLM but seem to be able to set up most of what I want it to do except for one thing -- how to import an existing list of email addresses. This list has been used to send a newsletter to ~300 subscribers more or less manually, using ThunderBird. Ideally, I'd like to load these addresses into ezMLM and send them all a "Welcome to the new newsletter service" note, asking them to confirm that they want to continue to receive the newsletter with a single 'reply' to confirm opt-in.

Any suggestions for how to go about this?
