FTP Problems

I am having trouble FTP'ing to FQ domains, it just stops after a few files have been uploaded. My connection seems fine and no changes have been made to my firewalls, FTP Client (CuteFTP) or anything else.

Is anyone else having problems?

Use PASV mode is unchecked, it was fine yesterday. Is this anything to do with the network problems I was experiencing this morning from the UK?

Thanks

Pete

Just done a load of tracerts and pings and all seems fine, no problems and faster than any other domain not on FQ that I have tried.

Any ideas would be helpful because I can't upload at the moment

Hi Pete,

I know you've been experiencing some mysterious connection issues lately.

Have you tried enabling PASV mode to see if that helps?

Hi Melissa,

This mornings connection issues were pinpointed, or at least suspected to be a router problem your end, it wasn't just me who experienced the exact same problem so I can discount something wrong with my own setup/network.

As for my FTP problem, I unchecked PASV a few weeks ago after getting a wireless router and ADSL connection. Until today everything was fine.

My FTP problem seems to be happening with non FQ domains as well, so its something to do with my network or something else, but why it should start today I really don't know, nothing has changed on my system.

Thanks for your help anyway, I'll have to do some further digging and find the problem.

phppete,

I have a service call in about this as well.

I think its the same problem.

My ftp client "punts" on every few upload attempts.

By "punts" I mean it completely shuts itself down when I select the file to upload.

Interestingly, it doesn't seem to happen at all in some directory branches.

I have implemented the suggestions (ncluding PasV) and am now working with the help desk.

Let me know how your problem/resolution is going. I'll keep you updated too. :-)

-John

Hi,

I have checked 'Use Filtering' in my FTP Client (Cute FTP) and that seems to have helped but some days I have to still upload each directory contents individually. When I click and drag a load of files over it will upload the first directory then just hang.

I haven't done much uploading lately though so I can live with any problem for now. Due to lack of time and workload I have put this on the back burner.

It could be an issue with SP2, I just don't know.

Let me know if you find the gremlin.

I fixed my FTP problem by turning off the 'Use Firewall Settings' in CuteFTP, maybe that might be your problem?

*note* I havent turned off my Router FW, or my WIndows XP FW.
