Happy American Thanksgiving
Happy holiday to those celebrating the big turkey fest tomorrow. No doubt it accounts for the quiet state of the forums today; everyone is hauling out their Martha Stewart manuals. (Not me, I'm waiting on a callback from the vet to take in a puppy with bloody urine . . . )
This is one of my all time favorite cartoons, and there's only the one time of year to share it. I refuse to post it to the Last Word thread, too.

Puppy (who is 70 pounds and 18 months old, but still the "baby" LOL!) will be fine; she 'just' has a UTI, whew. I was worried we were looking at stones or something, there was so much blood. What a stoic dog though, she didn't indicate discomfort at all, just needed to go out a little more often - and that's not "unusual" for her, as she really packs down the water - so it initially didn't raise a red flag for me. I just feel bad that it came down to passing blood for me to notice.
It was one of those "weird" things too: I leave the dogs for 4-5 hours at least once a week, to go on errands and meetings and such, they do fine. This time, I just felt compelled to come check on them after I'd been out for just two hours, before heading out to more errands . . . and she'd had four accidents in the 2 hour span (she's totally housebroken, even one accident would have been alarming!) I also grabbed a salad at Subway, something else I "never" do - and if I hadn't, I wouldn't have had a chance to eat *anything* yesterday (totally crazy day for more than just the sick doggie!)- and No Food is Not a Good Thing for Mandi, makes me totally :google:.
All's Well That Ends Well, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone !

I flatly refuse to eat a car that looks like that. Especially with that ugly dog on top of it.
Have I mentioned how cute this car is?

Ack. What you're saying is that thread is a virus and will infect other threads on the forums?
And Happy Thanksgiving to all.

OK, as I sit here fighting off the post-turkey sleepies, I want to know why a few (thin) slices of Thanksgiving turkey affect me much more than a well-stuffed turkey wrap from a sandwich shop does.

I think it's the madcap preparations the day before, the short night's sleep because you have to rise early to start dishes, the bad choice to skip lunch so you'll be hungrier, spending all day on your feet cooking, and then the presence of actual original compounds (l-tryptophan, which is sedating) in your home cooked food, vs. whatever it is they serve en masse at a restaurant. Plus, I know I don't usually have wine at Subway .
Or maybe just the last thing, if the first part is leaving you with a big WTHeck is she talking about, LOLOL . . .
But maybe the point is to make sure you're early to bed, so you can get up at 5 am for the 6 am Comp USA sale.

Aren't there laws against transporting rocks across state lines?
Or maybe it's rock musicians I'm thinking of...
