Transfering domain out of NSI w/bad email contact

A colleague had a domain registered with NSI-VS by a third party some years ago and now wants it transfered to another registrar. Unfortunately their contact email is no longer valid, and the third party is no longer around. A transfer request was blocked by NSI presumably after 5 days of no response from the listed contact email.

Does anyone have current experience in getting NSI domain contact email corrected and/or conducting a transfer with a bad email address? Any suggestions on how to quickly resolve this issue?

Thx.

I managed to do that once awhile back (definitely not current info). I think I had to fax proof of identity to NetSol along with a request to change the email address to my own.

You try to make the change, using a valid email address. When it fails, you use the tracking number to create a fax authorization form. I've got one out there now that they took action on after about a week, but one document was incorrect. We'll see how long it takes to complete. Another time I called them and mentioned that the bill was coming due, and that seemed to help. Then again, I think they're trying to be more careful. In the past there were stories about getting them to do things by calling them. And they've switched over to password verification for new accounts, it looks like.
