SSI image anomaly?
I'm using interactivetools.com's Article Manager program on a Futurequest hosted site I'm launching. The program works fine, but I'm having a strange, periodic glitch in the SSIs used to feed the header and footer content.
The images will display fine for several days and then suddenly I have a broken link and the alt text instead of the image. Nothing appears wrong in the SSI code snippet. The path remains "http://www.ophealthfitness.com/images/the_name_of_the_image.gif", but the image doesn't appear. Changing, usually shortening, the image name and name only fixes the problem...until the next time when another image in the SSI suddenly isn't recognized.
Is there something about SSIs I don't know? (Well, I'm sure there's a lot about SSIs I don't know, but I'm refering to this particular problem.) Should I be using an .html or .shtml extension for the included files? (right now, the code snippets are filename.txt and are kept in a separate directory so everyone working with them knows they're *not* an actual web page).
This is not a triage situation, but it is annoying because I don't know what's going on.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has any information to share on this.
