After much tribulation, I got my first Wordpress blog up and running (yay!)
Now I'm ready for the big leagues (I thought)...
Setting up my second one, in what I thought was exactly the same way as the first one, I get this error:
Error establishing a database connection
What I did:
Understanding I get 10 mySQL databases with my hosting account, I set up a second database.
The first one, xflightsofwit-richpotterblog works fine. In the CNC mySQL panel, its name is in hyperlink blue.
the second one, xflightsofwit-bertthenerdwp is not hyperlinky; In the CNC mySQL panel, its name is just plain ascii text.
As per the multiple database instructions, I changed the table prefix line in the new blog's wp-config.php to the non-default "$table_prefix = 'bert_';"
The problem-free blog still sits with default "$table_prefix = 'wp_';"
I've double, triple, quadruple...dodecatuple checked and the password and user name in both wp-config.php files are the same.
Do I somehow have to create a new user? Do I have to create a "network?" I have searched on the wordpress site for "
Error establishing a database connection" and am finding all sorts of non-solutions to my problem. Wondering if I've stumbled on something Futurequest-specific.
Thank you in advance. I'm always pleased with how quickly (and non-judgmentally) the FQ staff/community helps out!
