Query to Future Quest members
FQ has been recommended to me - I am seeking a new site host. I would like to hear from some of you on how your experience here has been. Many thanks.

hehe - I take it you like them Sheila!
I'm very impressed. Clearly the service here is outstanding. I am hesitating over the cost tho, as it is more than I am currently paying. Part of the problem is that both of my sites are big. I don't have a current figure on directory space used, but I believe it to be slightly over 50 mgs each. Our bandwidth usage varies drastically from month to month. It's hard to decide which package to go for. I will be thinking this over. Like I said, I still have a few months to go with my current host - I'd leave now but there are financial penalties for leaving early :-(
One thing strongly in FQs favor - the cost of extra bandwidth! My current server charges $1.00 per 5 mgs...outrageous isn't it!
The packages include stuff I don't need, such as the many pop accounts - I only need one per site, lol. And what the heck is "6 MySQL Databases"?
Still, it looks pretty good. I will find out what kind of directory space we are using currently, and then try to decide what package might be best.
Thanks for the input Sheila!

FutureQuest is expensive on disk space. But, it is money well spent.
You will be very happy here, I guarantee. (I have been here 9 months, and have yet to hear anyone leave voluntarily. A couple people had to leave because they needed dedicated servers, but each asked FQ to add dedicated servers first because they really, really didn't want to leave FQ as their site grew. I also really hope that FQ offers dedicated servers by the time my site grows that much.)
If you want a high-quality host, you will have to pay something for it. FutureQuest simply makes you pay a little bit more for disk space because it is tangible, but if it makes you feel better, think of all the support, expertise, honesty, uptime, performance, bandwidth, extra domains, etc. that is included in that monthly fee and then you will realize what a great deal they have to offer.

Yes, I do understand all that. But I should point out that these are personal sites, not commercial. The income from running ads on the sites barely pays the current cost. The hard part is that most months we use 5 gb or less of bandwidth on each site - but then a good link will hit for the kids site, and we will use 12-15 gbs. I don't want to see my site taken off line because I go over bandwidth, but I am not rich (lol, my income is about 500 a month total!) and I can't afford to pay for extra bandwidth.
It would sure be much easier if we always used that kind of bw. I hate to sign up for the big account, when most of the time we don't need it...but I can never tell when something will bring the traffic up. Also, duh, if we got that kind of traffic every month, the ad money would be much much better! LOL

The folks who own and operate FutureQuest are the sort of kind and intelligent humans that you'd probably like for friends; and they are right here all teh time answering questions, steadily pursuing proactive development. They and the hosted community memebers contribute to FQ being a nice warm sunny environment so to speak; in stark contrast to other hosts where there isn't a functioning brain cell to be found anywhere.
Technically, the stability and performance here, and the tools, are top drawer.
If you have specific or unique requirements, let them be known either in the fora or to them by email; just to be sure.

Superb, thorough support -- and always darned quick about it, too... and the reliability and uptime of FutureQuest servers is extraordinary.
I've experience with over 60 hosting companies, and FutureQuest beats every last one of them, hands-down.
As for price, look carefully at the numbers. For site operators who run any kind of traffic to speak of, the dollars come out highly competitive.
I don't recommend lightly in these matters, but FutureQuest is fully five-star.

I think you will find this place very suitable. I have over 27 URL's here now, and really like it. I will relate a true story about a bandwidth issue.
On March 14th, I left for a week long vacation in Florida. Of course, I had my laptop in tow with me, but the fella that was supposed to go with me, backed out at the last minute, leaving me to drive 1200 miles each way myself. The day after I left, one of my sites got mentioned in a very popular fishing magazine. Well, guess what, the hits went right through the roof. I didn't know about any of this, as this site usually rocks along with a small number of regulars on it. The magazine was in my mailbox the day after I left. FQ emails me about the situation, saying they predict that I am going to run out of bandwidth and give me a choice of upgrading my account or simply paying for the bandwidth. I am on the road, with none of my reseller account info at hand, all of which is on my computer at the office. In the mean time, hits continue to rack up at my now very popular site, and FQ doesn't yank the plug. I email them back, explain that I am on the road and will upgrade the following Thursday. I get a very nice email back from Bob, saying that is fine.
I really don't know of any host that could have been any nicer. Instead of shutting me down, and ruining all the free advertising I got out of the magazine article, FQ worked with me, and kept my site at full speed. As soon as I got back in town, I upgraded, as well as trimmed some fat off my bandwidth, and none of my users ever knew anything at all had happened. That's what I call first class service, from a first class company and is exactly why I continue to use FQ for my hosting.
