Stumbled Upon this...

http://www.stumbleupon.com/

I was (and still am) skeptical about installing toolbars, other than Google I never tried any but Alexa and didn't like that. Until now.

I have installed this one yesterday and so far it is working great for me. And they do seem to be experiencing some impressive growth.

I got a few hits from them last year, but they didn't let me see the rating that my website got. They might have had a bot visit my site just so I'd go there and hopefully use it, which I did, just that one time.

I'm willing to give it a try, if only because they support the Mozillas -- let alone mention Firebird by name.

I've found the operation of their toolbar and blogware to be very smooth and intuitive, and yes I too was impressed by the browser support. That and some very interesting discoveries using their "Stumble" button are what prompted the first post.

OK, so how come I don't have any topics in my drop-down list? All I can do is "stumble" randomly.

The last item in my drop-down list is "Add more topics." Not in yours?

No, all I see is "Any Topic," "My News" and "Random Website." Am I supposed to be signing up and creating some kind of profile?

Yes, I did that... The little "house" icon on your tool-bar.

Still no topics. I'll try the IE version for comparison -- maybe it's a Firebird bug.

Edit: Oops, never mind -- I just did it through Update Interests in the other menu. Not very intuitive if it took me two days to find it, but oh well.

Now to do some more targeted stumbling...

I remember finding it interesting to stumble around last year, but it was a short-lived interest. I kind of had to be drawn to the site for some other reason before I'd bother. Stumbling around Google is good enough for me. I like searching for various extreme things. I'll try one now... I searched for "dumbest president was" and came up with just one result at http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in543959.shtml -- an Andy Rooney article that says:
Quote:
There was a story on the internet a while back listing the IQs of the last 12 U.S. Presidents. The study was supposedly done by a think tank called The Lovenstein Institute.

Bill Clinton was at the top of the list with an IQ of 182. Jimmy Carter was second. Nixon was the highest ranked Republican at fourth. It went through the last 12 Presidents. George Bush was listed at number 11 and George W. Bush was listed 12th with the lowest IQ...the dumbest President.
