Sir Cam has found an ezmlm list address

GEEEEZ this is annoying. The sir cam messages started showing up on one of my e-mail lists this morning and it's attacking it like crazy. Well, it was - I had to delete the list.

I've been getting 2 to 6 of these a day for at least a couple weeks now but they've all come to private e-mail addresses - all accounts or aliases on Fquest accounts.

How would it find the mlm address? It's not posted anywhere. I've suggested to the members of the list that it might have been picked up when someone went to one of those joke sites where they say "E-mail this page to a friend" - I've been trying to get them to stop that, maybe they will now.

Am I off base on this guess or what? How else would they get the mlm address?

Isn't the MLM address in the message headers that are sent to the list members? It could easily get it from that, couldn't it? Maybe some of them put the address for the list in their address book of their mail program. That would do it.

Really? So the little worm comes into their computer and pulls the address right out of the address book? Holy smokes. I've been harping on them to get anti-virus software and firewalls and such. Maybe this will do it.

From what I've heard, SirCam is actually quite effective at pulling email addresses out of the computer, going so far as to scan web pages in the cache and the like.
