Domain Transfer Help!
AH! Since my new host has a good connection and pricing but horrible support, I am forced to ask my question here. Upon registration, I was given the following information about my server:
Primary Nameserver: ns.cheatindex.com
Primary IP Address: 64.65.0.27
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.cheatindex.com
Secondary IP Address: 64.65.1.27
Now, I have two exact problems. First off, I would like to transfer the domain cheatindex.com off of your shoulders but joker.com for example, expects me to enter a Host-handle that already has those matching information. There is none there that I can choose from. How do I make a host-handle with those IPs and Nameservers?
Also, I have finally learnt on my own how to make virtual hosting accounts on my server, and for example, 64.65.11.57, leads to one of my sites. Now my question for you (though they should be answering this) is, let's say I learn how to make a Host-handle, do I use that IP and the same primary nameserver and secondary IP and Nameservers for the domain alteration?
I'm totally confused. I understand this is not your territory, but any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
HZ

I don't know how joker.com works. Anyway, you have mentioned on other page your new account at Olm, and I tried them some time ago. I think it's one of the good web hosts, although I've found that FQuest is really better. Olm support is kind but not very talkative (maybe they are people of so few words because too much busy).
Probably because of this typical host behavior, some Olm customers founded a mailing list, with archives, not so good like this forum, but it can be useful for you. Now you have the two places to ask on this transition.
OLM / WebAxxs Users' Group
http://216.71.206.132/olmwebaxxsusers/
http://www.topica.com/lists/olmwebaxxsusers/
I found, that time, this unofficial mailing list, unknown for most Olm customers, through the well-known alt.www.webmaster newsgroup ( news:alt.www.webmaster ). It's another good place to get information, with archives at:
Deja.com: Forum alt.www.webmaster
http://www.deja.com/group/alt.www.webmaster

Juan from the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you for going to all that trouble of find the links, but the fact is, OLM was a temp host I used used until my dedicated server was up.
My true host is dialtoneinternet.com now, and since it's dedicated, all administration is up to me. The above is all I have to go on, and I need to transfer these domains before my Futurequest account is cancelled.
Thank you though, honestly.

It appears, that if you call in long distance, their support is more than eager to help you.
So basically, I solved all of my problems except for one thing. You see, I need to change my nameservers and IP addresses. I had one domain with Network Solutions, and it allowed me to do it. I'm just waiting for Futurequest to respond to the email authorizing them.
Unfortunetly, Joker.com won't allow me to just change the nameservers and IP addresses. It only allows me to submit a new host-handle which holds these new peices of information. So my question for you guys is, how in the world do I go around doing that?
Register.com has the same problem apparently.

Well, at least for Register.com, the easiest thing you can do is go to http://www.register.com/contact_us_bridge.cgi and ASK THEM. Register.com's tech support is very good, they'd be happy to help you out I'm sure.
For joker.com, you should e-mail info@joker.com and ASK THEM TOO. I've never worked with their support dept (I don't use joker.com), but they should certainly answer your question (and if they don't I'd transfer the domain to another registrar.)

I already called Register.com and they sent a change form over to Futurequest. I'm still waiting for Futurequest to forward them to me, because without them, I can't move, and time is running up.
I emailed Joker as your suggested. Still awaiting a reply. I've done all I could, and for some reason, no one is willing to email me at any company and help push things along.
