Hello all! Would like to share my latest endeavor in hopes of getting some feedback.

http://www.aquanautical.com (FLASH INTRO just bought flash first time using it I know I need work there)
http://www.aquanautical.com/links (NON FLASH)

If anyone is into boating add some links and register on the UBB.

Thanks in advance!

The flash looks fine, but I have two comments:
(1) I didn't see a "skip intro" link, ...? Oh, wait, it is down at the center bottom. A bit difficult to see (not much contrast), although I realize you don't want to draw a lot of attention to it...
(2) when the word "swimming" comes up during the intro, well...those two people in the water aren't doing any swimstroke that I'm aware of!

Otherwise, nice.

LOL @ Sheila

I agree with what has been said already. The only thing I would change is have the intro go right into the page so the user doesn't have to hit enter. 50% of people hate splash screens, and 50% of people hate Flash Intros. If you have a Flash Intro that leads to a splash screen you're bound to piss off a lot of people, and likely loose a lot of visitors.

Regarding the "Skip Intro" link, the absolute best implementation of this that I have seen is by Drewmedia. It is part of the Flash Movie, and it says "Skip Intro?", but when you put your mouse over it, it changes to "Are you sure?". It's just food for thought.

The main page looks good; I like the colors you have chosen, except I would make the category headers an orange or a yellow, just to add some depth to it. Other than that, I'm liking it a lot.

PS: Maybe I'm off base here, but am I the only one who finds the link called "Seamanship" somewhat amusing? You might be violating FQ's porn TOS...

Great looking flash intro!
....everything looks great but you might want to tone down the red color against the blue...I dunno maybe im just tired and its late, but the color red against blue strained my eyes...anyways hope this input helps but great looking site otherwise.

Thanks,

Robert,

Very nice site but I did not see any animated splash screen. Have you decided not to do that?

I like that link database as well. I see where it lets you rate links but did not see the rating itself. Will this show up with the listing once it has been rated enough time? Also, what did that link software cost?

He's using Gossamer Threads' Links 2.0, which is free for non-commercial use and $150 otherwise. The MySQL version is $450.
