404 error

Terra.. Deb...

on internal redirects, how do you set up customize 404 error pages?

I have one and it doesn't work, www.heartisticwishes.com/anything/ I get this:
Quote:
Not Found

The requested URL /anything/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
but if I access a non existing dir directly.. via heartsweb.. it works perfectly.
www.heartsweb.com/heartisticwishes/anything/

thanks...

Hearts... check the difference between the .htaccess that is your /heartiswishes/ directory and compare it to the .htaccess-TERRA (the TERRA one is the original)

Always make sure you press return one last time in your htaccess files... there needs to be one last line feed at the end.

I am there now.. I see TERRA's. (that is my old one?)
okay.. i am trying this now.. however.. here is MY NEW question...

NOW via heartsweb/heartisticwishes/ the 404 error doesn't work. Is there a trick to this? *confused*

BTW.. thanks TERRA

PS... sorry if I am being a pain in the *you know what* (but there was a time that heartistic wishes was part of heartsweb so lots of folks reach it via heartsweb/heartisticwishes.

Either 1 of 2 ways...

1) copy the mendinghearts.html into your root webspace...
2) create a symbolic link from your mendinghearts.html into your root webspace...

Either of those should work...  You have to be a bit more creative when it comes to IRM's...  Also, look at your error log and you will see where I rewrite the true document root whenever an IRM is requested...

Once you see how the mechanism works, (simple in concept - yet difficult to implement *efficiently*) you can easily come up with creative solutions to work with it...
