FQuest Upgrades: QuestMail

I have just completed upgrades to QuestMail...

The current revision is 3.0e...

I am hoping this will solve some long standing issues in regards to the following:
1) Deletion of messages
2) Word/Line wrapping
3) Random 'Unknown' messages in IN box

QuestMail is an extremely complex program, and I'm quite sure there are plenty of bugs that remain...

Bug Submission Protocol/Format:
If you should find any, please put together an email listing the bugs '1-2-3' so that we may forward it on to the QuestMail authors...

Please include the following:
1) POP-Username/Hostname/Password
**This is for FutureQuest INTERNAL USE ONLY**
2) The actual problem with details on how we may reproduce the problem...
**An item bug submission without details on reproduction will be ignored...
3) Please keep 'bug reports' and 'suggestions for new features' in different sections...

By maintaining the above format, we are much more efficient in tracking down the problem, instead of guessing at 'Item xyz is broke, fix it'...

Final Notes:
QuestMail has had several 50/50 splits on the Wish List, and a couple final decisions on operation are listed below:
1) Ability to delete immediately without having to delete from Trash folder as well
**We have chosen to play it safe in this area, and emulate the functionality of the Windows Recycle Bin...
2) Quota set to 2Mb
**We have chosen not to raise this limit as it was never intended to be someones sole email client...  We recommend obtaining a primary email client like Eudora/Pegasus/etc and only using QuestMail for emergencies...  It was created for 3 primary reasons: 1) Debugging client email problems, 2) When travelling, 3) Alternate method for clients that have ISP's which block port 25 (SMTP: sending mail)...
**If you get a quota exceeded message, then you will need to delete stored messages before you can continue...

no no no. Not that I have a bug to send in, but this is just not what I want to send you.
You should know my password and it should be quite clear that this should not be forwarded to the QuestMail developers.

Why would anybody except me ever need my password???

1) We do NOT know what a particular POP mailbox may be, e.g. Sales@yourdomain.com (all passwords are encrypted and we have no access to POP passwords)

2) So that we can login to QuestMail via your login to reproduce the problem...

Thanks for pointing out this 'assumption', and I have modified the original post...

you're right. I forgot that I have more than one POP-Account. I'm only using the main POP-Account which I cannot modify.... ahhh..... I made a second one for my father

Something that has come up a couple of times via email that I'd like to note here as well ...

In QuestMail even if you have chosen to &quot;Leave Mail On Server&quot; it will not leave the mail on the server if you delete it from QuestMail.

The idea is: If you are away from your main email software and you are checking your mail from QuestMail, this will give you the opportunity to delete junkmail prior to downloading your mail from your main program.  It also allows you to delete larger files etc that you may not want to download from your main account.

If you wish for the email to be on the server when you decide to download it from another account do not delete the mail you wish to keep from QuestMail until after you have retrieved it from your main account.  If you have deleted it, but not from the trash bin, then you can forward it on from the trash.. if you delete it from the trash bin as well... then it is in fact gone....

Thanks for the tip Deb on deleting messages, as I don't believe other &quot;remote&quot; email systems act this way.
