New Account Freeze...

Just to make it official I'm posting about it here ....

We have put a freeze on new accounts. We have taken down our order form in an effort to maintain the sites currently hosted on the FutureQuest server as they need to be hosted. The current server is full. We are in the process of building new servers, as most of you know by now, and should have them on-line within the next couple of days. Once they are stabalized we will re-open the order form and enjoy new accounts

Tonight Terra said to me "is this admitting defeat?"
My answer was simply and boldly "NO!" Because it's not, not by a long shot. This is simply admitting that we are dedicated to all of you and in this for the long haul. The losses we take over the next two weeks and the chance we take at a "bad rap" for doing this don't even come close to the losses we would feel if we knew in our hearts that the site owners that are currently trusting us are being failed. To me this is admitting success! Nothing less.

Anyone who sees the freeze as something to 'worry about' is simply looking through the wrong glasses.

Happy Building
Deb (who happens to be **** proud of our sys admin! )

p.s. Resellers who need to service their new clients... contact me and I will lead you in the right direction. This will not hurt your business.

Bravo-

I think this shows an admirable desire to serve your clients. I only hope that the freeze is short because I have some more domains I want to bring here

I hope those new servers are ready soon. I look forward to the continued growth of FQ and I'm glad to be here.

Thanks for showing that quality, not quantity, is your primary concern. The recent slowdowns had me a little worried, but I'm proud to say I am very glad to be an FQ client!

Good move guys. I have an old honker IBM model 70, replete with four MEGAbytes of ram and a genuine Intel 386 cpu if you need some additional horsepower on your new "farm" Only thing is, ya'll pay shipping-she's a touch heavy.

I can top that, Benson -

I have an IBM 6170 with 256K and the 8086 processor I'm willing to donate. One of the two 360K floppies doesn't work, but...

Thanks, Deb for putting quality over quantity.

I have a Commodore Vic-20 with 16k of ram, a nifty cartridge slot, and a cassette drive - best part is, you don't even need a monitor! Just flip the TV/Game switch...

I need to say that I'm quite happy to be with a host that has their priorities straight. It really makes me happy to know you are willing to do this, instead of putting your existing customers' accounts in peril for new setups. I'm still, and always will be proud to say to anyone that I'm a FutureQuest customer.

You can have controlled, managed growth or uncontrolled, unmanaged growth.

It's been my experience that it's a lot better to manage your growth than not manage it.

I respectfully submit that you guys are doing a great job. I've been wired a long time, but only recently decided to "do the web thing." My first experience was horrible ... my service provider was a major lamer who didn't care a bit about his/er customers.

You guys have it right. Anyone who is willing to risk a bit of heat in the name of quality service will have my business for a long time.

Thanks for caring enough to take that chance.
