Help! Error when accessing GIF files.

I have installed UltraBoard, and it runs great.

The only issue I have is that the images that should be inserted in the pages, dont show up.

When I try to view the image by URL (ex: http://xuomall.futurequest.net/cgi-b...ges/Admin.gif)

I receive the following error:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@uomall.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Then I check the error log, and it contains the following:

%% [Sun Jan 16 08:08:45 2000] GET /cgi-bin/UltraBoard/Images/Admin.gif HTTP/1.0
%% 500 /big/dom/xuomall/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/Images/Admin.gif
%request

%response

I have no clue whats going on.... I can view files in all other directories, and my script runs fine....

The Images directory is chmoded to 755 and the images themselves are chmoded to 666.....

Anyone know whats up? The error log doesnt seem to be logging the error

Thanks in advance....

While waiting to hear from someone, I was playing around, and copied all the image files from /cgi-bin/UltraBoard/Images to www/Images and repointed the script to look there for the images and it works fine...

Apparently I have something configured incorrectly in my cgi-bin folders that it wasn't allowing me read those files....

I have left them intact, as I would still like to know what was wrong so I do not do it again.

Thanks again,

CJ

The problem is that you cannot serve images from the cgi-bin. Any file in that directory (or any of it's subdirectories) is taken to be a script and is executed.

Hope this helps

I've followed the development off and on of UltraBoard, and that's been a known problem since its early days.  I have no idea why they haven't changed it yet.  Very strange.
