Text editor for Mac?

My first website I built on a PC using Komposer. Now I am buying a Mac and wonder what editor people would suggest for maintaining my website as well as adding a new one. I'd prefer a free one and I liked the WYSIWYG.

I know a minimal amount of HTML and will be trying CSS this time.

A simple artist website, mainly images and descriptions...

Thanks for your suggestions.

I have always found the Future Quest community helpful.

Re: Text editor for Mac?

I went through a search looking for a Mac equivalent to UltraEdit. I was directed to Text Wrangler by several people. I haven't done much with it yet, but have found it easy to use so far and priced right at $0.00.

Text Wrangler is a good free text editor for the Mac. I use the commercial sibling, BB Edit.

Kompozer is also available for the Mac, so you do not have to switch tools if you do not want to.

BBEdit is the best. Text Wrangler is great (based on BBEdit).

Another one to look at is Coda, although not free.
