Oy.
I know what to do to get them working in PHP5, 99% of my sites are all custom coded by myself so I don't have to be digging in other peoples code. The problem I have is the amount of sites that need looking at and testing, probably around 40 in total.
I think they should drop PHP5 and go with PHP6, then all the smug ones who don't live in a perpetual state of chaos will be in the same boat as us

Are there any known issues with vBulletin (3.0.1) and this changeover?

Hi there - can you tell me which version of PHP you're upgrading to? Many thanks! Darian

If no newer version is released in the mean time, 5.2.6

As that release is from way back in April 2004 then I wouldn't expect it to be completely free of compatibility issues with PHP5.

Is there any reason you haven't upgraded to a newer version? If nothing else, there has been a variety of security vulnerabilities that have been fixed in later versions that will still be present in that release.

I applied several patches for security issues. I haven't upgraded because it's stable, and reliable.

Is there anyone on FQ staff that can comment one way or the other whether it's going to break my site when this "upgrade" happens? I would really rather not have to deal with losing the whole thing on a Saturday.

Monty found this on the VB Forums posted by one of their Support folks...

No. vB 3.0.1 will not work with PHP5 or MySQL5.

Thanks Bob. The current spiking on MMS016 would be the upgrade in progress. vB has been working on it since 3. They are going to be at minimum wage before they get done at this rate.

Re: [FQuest Announce] PHP4 to PHP5 Upgrades November 2008

Well, that only took 14 hours to accomplish. I bet vB goes up on their prices for professional upgrades after that one.

In case anyone else is going through this, I had to revert all of my templates to be able to post again.

Nov. 8th should be an interesting day for those that aren't planning for it.
