Restricting ezmlm-idx messages to plain text only

I am looking into the possibility of moving a pair of e-mail lists that I moderate over to FutureQuest. On the whole, the ezmlm-idx installation appears to offer comparable functionality to the mlmmj mail software the lists currently run on.

One glaring exception, however: On the current installation, we are able to prevent (reject) HTML e-mail messages. This was put in because of abuses by posters who went crazy with flashy colors, etc. But on a more serious note, I am very concerned about the fact that according to the documentation here, a footer message (containing unsubscribe info, etc.) is likely NOT going to be appended to multipart/MIME messages with both plaintext and HTML parts.

I would much prefer to have the footer appear on every message, and I think that is the most responsible way to run these kinds of lists. Is there a way to block (reject) messages that are submitted other than in plain text?

Any other ideas?

Hi,

You would actually be able to create the files (mimereject, mimeremove, or mimekeep) in the mailing list directory /big/dom/xdomain/username/mailinglistname

I'm trying this right now with the "mimekeep" file.

Unfortunately these don't operate as stated in the earlier post. Contrary to what Bruce stated, putting text/plain in mimekeep does not seem to cause the text part to be put through; rather, the whole message is rejected. I'm still testing mimeremove, because I'm getting inconsistent results.
