I actually bought a Bluray player partially based on all the streaming options it provided.

We switched to Netflix streaming only (found that we were sitting on DVDs for a week or two before getting around to watch them) and we have Amazon prime, the shipping alone made it worthwhile for us but the streaming options are a very nice bonus...
