I had the occasion to use another web host's file management interface and it has made me appreciate the CNC more than ever. I tried to give the other interface the benefit of the doubt--it's new to me, I'm not used to it--then I tried to edit a file. All I wanted to do was edit a page title and add meta description and keywords. When I saved my changes I discovered that the page layout had changed! Eventually I discovered that simply
clicking on the button to go from the WYSIWYG editor to the html editor changed the page layout. Then I had to find a workaround (copy old file > edit locally > create new file on site > check new file > rename old file > rename new file). If I continue to work with this client I'm going to explore getting her to move to FQ!
