Re: The last word...

Cats' eyes shine in the dark due to the presence of a light-reflecting surface called the tapetum lucidum. The tapetum lucidum, located behind the retina, is composed of fifteen layers of special glittering cells of the substance guanine.
The tapetum lucidum reflects any light that is not absorbed as light passes through the retina of the eye. The reflection by the tapetum lucidum allows the retina to absorb extra light, which aids the cat's night vision. Another consequence of the tapetum lucidum is that it causes the cat's eyes to shine in dim light, when the light hits the eyes at certain angles.
A cat's shining eyes usually appear greenish or golden. The eyes of the Siamese cat reflect a luminous ruby red.

And therefore, on topic in this, the side-issue thread.

Hmmm. Depends on which side, I think.
If it's the right side, you're likely to be mugged by the polyester.

Re: The last word...
If the polyester side-issue thread is on the right does that mean the cotton thread is on the left? This would be a polyseter blend then? And what's this mugging business, is that a side-issue too? Mugging for the camera or mugging for your wallet? Is that too many questions?

Yes.
If you've ever been mugged by a polyester, you'd know what I mean...

Re: The last word...
I noticed that this coming week we'll be celebrating the birthdays of both Rue and unruhe. I was going to buy the Halloween candy that week, but I better wait to make sure nothing splodes.

Re: The last word...
Nothing sploded. I bought bags of halloween pretzels in a big plastic barrel.
Remember when I said I spent three hours shopping for a birthday gift for like a 1 or 2 year old? I know you don't, but I did, except I actually spent four hours but it was too hard to believe and too embarrassing to say. By too hard to believe I mean it was hard for me to believe. Well, I know I spent four hours this time, so I believe it. I wasn't having fun, but the time flew by. I guess it felt like about hour, but I didn't really get a feel for the time because I was too involved in finding a suitable gift.
I found nothing I was satisfied with. The problems included toys not working well, too many parts with no place to store them, flimsy cardboard storage that would tear when untaped, batteries not included, not boxed so couldn't be wrapped, came with a DVD (I don't want to create work for the parents or risk subjecting them to ads), wooden and heavy enough to hurt toes, outdoor summertime stuff, and in the case of ride-on things and blocks, the kid and her brother have enough. I ended up paying $40 for a Little Mommy bald doll with three accessories (I think stroller, rocker, and something else). It's a Toys R Us exclusive. I'm not that dissatisfied with it, it's just that with some minor changes, several other toys could have met my requirements and cost half that much.
And why are half of the dolls ugly?

I remember it all too well.

I can believe it. Very easily.

You've missed your true calling, Wass. You should have gone into the toy business.
