Adding Programs to NT Services

First time working with NT here from anything other than a casual user level.

Is it possible to add programs to the Services section?  There are a couple programs I'd like to auto-start when NT starts.  I saw one program I loaded automatically added itself to the Services section and set itself to auto-start.  So now I want to add more.

Also, is there any way around the login?  I just want NT to start and run programs.  This machine is going to be unattended part of the day, and if there was a power failure (longer than the UPS can handle) I'd like it to start and go when the power comes back on.

Thanks!

It has been a long time since you posted this, but if you haven't found answers:
Both of the things you want are available through the resource kit.
1. There is a program named srvany that can run any program as a service IF the program will let it. That is, the program has to ignore the notification when you log off, etc. The only way (ASFAIK) that you can find out is to try it. I have had mixed results.
2. Another program in there is autolog, which will bypass the logon dialog and bring the system up. If all you need, however, is to run programs and share files/printers, this can be done without logging in at all, if the programs will run as services or start from the timer (AT). We leave our server logged off all of the time unless maintenance is being done. Much better security that way.
