[FQuest Announce] New CNC Features in Ezmlm-idx Manager

As a follow up to the recent ezmlm-idx upgrade, FutureQuest is pleased to announce that we have added support for adding/modifying the text files and subject lines from within the CNC Mailing List Manager.

Site owners can now easily modify the subject lines as well as the texts that ezmlm-idx sends in response to administrative requests, like subscribing and unsubscribing, to their liking.

Simply click on a mailing list and you will see two new options for managing your ezmlm-idx subjects and texts.

"Edit Listname Text Files"
"Edit Listname Subject Lines"

Re: [FQuest Announce] New CNC Features in Ezmlm-idx Manager

Hello Bruce,

Is it possible to add a further feature for the ezmlm in the CNC? A "single email invitation" feature would be very useful to send a single invitation email to interested parties. Sometimes people fail to subscribe to the ezmlm. I don't know why, but this does happen.

TIA
Manfred

Manfred,

You can always use your online subscription form to submit an address that would then receive a Confirmation request to be added to the Mailing List.

The Batch Confirmation Subscriber Script can also be used for that purpose.

Re: [FQuest Announce] New CNC Features in Ezmlm-idx Manager

With the new ezmlm upgrade, I noticed that when creating a new list now, the default "To unsubscribe..." footer(trailer) is not being sent in the messages, even though it is turned on (Trailer Text: Yes)???

This is not a multipart message, the test message was sent out as plain text, via the CNC List "Send a Message" option.

Any thoughts on this? The account I am testing on was created before the upgrade (if this matters).

Hi John,

It looks like you found a bug. We'll make sure it gets fixed up. For now, if you just go in to edit the trailer text and just push the "Save Changes" button, it should get set.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention,
Melissa

No problem, I thought this might be the case, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something also.

That took care of it.

Thanks for looking into this so quickly, as always!

Bruce was able to get this fixed right away and it has been tested to ensure it's working properly now, but if you see anything else, do let us know.

Thank you again for bringing it to our attention,
Melissa

Re: [FQuest Announce] New CNC Features in Ezmlm-idx Manager

I'm still having trouble with trailer text. I was slow to notice it because I'd temporarily removed the trailer text from the list I use most often. Trailer text hasn't appeared on several lists now. I did the fix you suggested above and it seems to be okay but I thought you'd want to know.

Re: [FQuest Announce] New CNC Features in Ezmlm-idx Manager

Your welcome.

I was doing some functionality tests on one account, as I don't use this feature that often as an admin. That was the only thing that jumped out so far. I do like the fact that all the text is easier to get to now then before.

Of course, I will let you know if I see anything else.

Thanks!

John
