Embeded Video in a Web Page
I need help from someone who has actually done this.
I want to put some video into a web page. I want it to be embedded rather than having a player popup after a link is clicked. I have my video in *.mov (Quicktime format). I have done an internet search but can't seem to get it to work. Can someone give me a specific example of how to do this for FutureQuest sites. Thanks, Mike |
The following link at Apples site should help you:

No, it doesn't help. I have found similar pages but when I try to use these on a web page, it doesn't show up.
I have also tried this with Real Video files and it doesn't work either. I do have plug-ins for both. Here is the link to a test page The funny thing is this one works. Wonder if it has to do with formats of the MOV file. Here is the link to a test page The MOV file that doesn't work is one from a Nikon camera. Anyone on FQ ever do this? How? |
Have you tried it including a complete URL for count.mov and Param elements with all the appropriate attributes?
|
Yes. But I think I know what the problem is. I have successfully embedded an MOV file. I think my Nikon MOV are a different format MOV than the one that the player plugin expects. My Nikon MOV is quicktime compatible but something is different about it.
I'm trying to work this through the Nikon forums. Thanks, |

You could always try importing the movie in flash MX and play it as a flash movie.
I have never used flash MX but know it supports video, and there maybe a free trial you can download. regards kris. |
Along the lines of Kris' suggestion, I've been muddling through a little project for a client with sound clips presented through embedded Flash files. The utility the client selected is www.soundnails.com
