My outgoing email (using my FQ domain as SMTP server) says

X-Sender: xisna-isnaisna (Unverified)

How does this happen, and can I get rid of it, since I am doing authentication with SMTP?

> We do not support SMTP authentication at this time

Now I'm confused. Wouldn't that mean that anyone can use FQ's SMTP service at any FQ-hosted domain name to send spam?

We are not an open relay, and we will only deliver mail for domains hosted on our servers...

There are 2 choices for locking down a SMTP server:
1) POP before SMTP
**This is a royal PITA for the site owners![nbsp][nbsp]We have seen other hosts employ this message only to have the site owners get ***extremely*** hostile with the Host, even though it was in the site owners best interest...[nbsp][nbsp]It is a no-win situation for the Host... :(
2) SMTP Authentication (SMTP-A)
**This is not support by every email client as it's an extension to the SMTP server...[nbsp][nbsp]Eudora handles it one way, Outlook another, Pegasus yet another and finding the common ground is extremely difficult...[nbsp][nbsp]Let's not forget everyone using email clients that don't support the (SMTP-A) extension...[nbsp][nbsp]Once again, it's a no-win situation for us as we would be forcing everyone to upgrade their email clients to something that works with us...

However, I am investigating the ability to use both - but from a system design standpoint, this is not going to be easy...[nbsp][nbsp]As the QMail SmartHubs progress further, I will be trying to offer both #1 and #2 above...[nbsp][nbsp]Main problem is how to 'educate' the site owner on:
a) Where to go
b) Why to go there
c) What to do
d) Why we did it to begin with

Believe me, we still have our support email box receive desperate pleas on helping site owners setup their CuteFTP to send and receive email... :P

Go into your option menu at the top and manual erase the xisna from the address and save it.

Huh? Not sure which option menu you are talking about, but I think that the outgoing mail server (SMTP at FQ) is adding that header. Since my outgoing mail is authenticated, I would rather not have the "unverified" X-Sender header appear.

...since I am doing authentication with SMTP? We do not support SMTP authentication at this time - it's possible that because you have this option enabled but our server does not require it, that your email program is adding the 'unverified' notation...
