I'm really stumped, and if any of you have a moment I would really appreciate some help or suggestions. Site is http://www.articles911.com.

I'm getting a small number of messages indicating people are getting essentially a blank page when they visit (with "done" in the status bar), OR, when they click on an article, they get a blank page.

I'm not able to figure out if this is a browser problem, scripting problem or whatever, since the problem doesn't replicate from here using recent IE and NS browsers.

My first suspect is older NS browsers that are sitting while graphics load or don't load (there's an intermittent problem, I think with adbutler banner serving).

Any suggestions as to how I could try to track this down?

It loads fine for me in NS 4.7, but there is one thing a bit odd. I get the following message:

"Your browser is not Java capable or Java has been disabled."

My browser is definitely Java capable last I checked, so I'm not sure what your home page is doing or detecting to make it think otherwise. Wouldn't surprise me if that phantom error is causing some browsers to hang.

I know this doesn't help you but...

Are the onUnload multiple popup ads really necessary? Ech...

I got an error on one of those pop-ups. I couldn't copy and paste the error though.

Actually the exit popups are from focalex. It's a tradeoff. They earn enough to easily cover the hosting fees.

But I agree, they are annoying.

I suspect the error on the popup mentioned is a banner problem -- adbutler is the likely culprit.

As for the java error, that's odd. I get that when I have certain security features turned on in my browsers, but not when the security features are off.

In any event, all suggestions welcome, critical or not.

Maybe I should start thinking of removing some of the code and simplifying.

Your site came up fine for me in both IE and Netscape. I am also on a Mac (I have seen differences between Macs and PCs on my own sites).

The only problem I saw was that the links above the "Welcome to the main page of the Articles Indexing Directory Project...." paragraph. Some of the letters were cut off at the end of the words until I resized my window to get them to show up.

Hope this will help a little.
