Right now I'm getting a
"Connection was refused when attempting to contact thinkspot.net"
error message from Mozilla every time I try to browse to my website.

This has been happening on the odd ocassion the past week or so.

IE just gives me the "friendly error page".

It's kind of annoying. Why would I be unable to go to my site? I don't think the server is down or anything like that. I'm not running firewall or anything like that, and having no problem going to other sites.

I can even ftp and upload files to my site and check email, but I can't browse to it.

OK, I just checked again before sending this message, and now it's fine. But I'm going to post this one anyway. The last time this happened (a few days ago) I got a message all typed up like this one, and then the problem stopped so I didn't post it.

This one's getting posted.

Oy!

I was doing a quick upgrade, late at night - while everyone is supposed to be asleep... I work late, so you don't have to... :P

** Pasted EMS response: **
The Apache server was taken offline for an upgrade that lasted: 1m 03s...

All Apache servers are now back in full operation...

In the future, please allow any types of outages at least 10 minutes (certainly more than a minute) as most perceived problems are transient in nature and usually caused by the routers handling the Internet traffic...
****

BTW, the error you got the other night was most likely due to small upgrade windows as Apache is currently going through custom modifications gearing up for the Christmas Holiday... :QTsanta:

Who knows what goodies are in store??? :QTwand:

I definitely won't be dropping any hints now - so you'll just have to wait... :QTbars:

Whoops! You can ignore that message I sent to support asking if Unity was down or not.

Well, remember...FQuesties are spread out around the globe. It was only a little past 11 pm here in CA when I encountered this.

Yes, normally I do not report transient problems. (Notice I said I'd started to report once before, but when it straightened itself out, I deleted the message and didn't post it?) It's just that this has come up a handful of times in the past week or so.

Sorry about catching you in the act!
:o
