View Full Version : Let it Snow,Let it Snow,....NO!!!!!
Is there anyone else around that lives under the umbrella of this infernal midwestern US? Today has not been a good day,..it has been snowing for over 24hrs and when I stepped out on to the porch to go to the office, I sunk waist deep..YIKES! Whats worse, my motherboard on my main computer aka my baby, fried! What horrible weather, even WALMART is closed! http://www.aota.net/ubb/frown.gif

I guess I shouldnt gripe. I just found out (I am completly oblivious to news and such) that about 2 1/2 hrs south of me they did not get a single inch of snow,..only ice. They have a couple of inches of pure ice..BRRRRR!
hearts- I have been flooded with work for the last two weeks, and probably won't be around too much. I dont have too many programs on this computer and most of them are just as stranded as I am at the office. With the exception of the games!! http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

well... if you are bored.. you could always teach me a few things I don't know.. http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif . I am trying to understand this SSI stuff.. and I keep having to bug cctech... My phone company will love me for it. http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
I apologize for not getting back to you yesterday, I got involved in this game, Baldur's Gate, and next thing I knew it was 3am. Im not a very good teacher. I usually end up confusing people more but here is a link that is a pretty decent tutorial on SSI (at least this is where I first started) http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif

Hope this helps http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

HA! SO ya got burried under snow.. and stayed up all night playing computer games.. hehehe.. so.. did ya outwit that game? AND THANK YOU for the link! I love this ssi so far! it is very easy to learn! I have this habit of going into a complete panic when I have to learn something new.. *thinking I am gonna screw it up* and lo and behold this was very easy to grasp! I am off to check out your link! So.. did ya build that snow man yet? http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif
No. The game is rediculously hard and the virtual equivalent of 10000sq miles or something absurd like that. Its pretty engrossing though. I just hope I can get motivated to get back to work on monday http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

sooooooooooo.. are you resuming your play today? Did wal-mart ever open for ya? I guess your cable must be out huh? *giggle*
since you have all this free time on your hands... you could update your profile http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif

Yeah, Ill probably play some today. I dont think walmart opened yet. The only thing that was open yesterday was Subway. Which is pretty strange, our town is like 100000 people and I find it hard to believe that they all had the good sense to stay closed and stay home.

so.. where are abouts are you with all this snow? Arkansas (some parts) are going on their second day of no power they had ice storms... and wondering.. how would you have made it to wal-mart -- you said you couldn't even go to work?
I am dead center in Illinois. We had 2 straight days of snow (about 14 in) and its snowing again right now. I never really wanted to go to walmart,..walmart and blockbuster video are about the only things in town that you can count on being open no matter what 24/7. I was just making the point that even THEY were closed.

Yea, it's snowing AGAIN in the Midwest!
I too, have been socked in my home before during unexpected blizzards but this time I had the pleasure of spending 3 days in an (almost) deserted hotel.
The following was originally posted by Sandy and I thought it would be appropriate to reference it here. It is a must read.

Rich
that was one of my better finds on the net LOL
I'll have to resend that one to my friends in the midwest http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif
I'd take the snow over quakes though!
hearts- Sorry, been gone. I got my new motherboard today and have been reconfiguring my pc. Also got the new backup pc today and loaded it up with all of my goodies so I wont ever have this problem again...
It snowed again today, but I believe I would trade another foot of snow for what is happening now. It warmed up to about 33 degrees today, a lot of the snow on the roads melted, and then the temp dropped to about 10 and is expected to drop to -10. So now instead of being snowbound about half of the streets in the fair city are sheets of ice. Ah, if only it were christmas.

HI ZEB.. Good morning.. http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif WOW.. that ice does not sound so good.. http://www.aota.net/ubb/frown.gif .. How are the people handling that? I hope they are driving with caution.
We are just freezing here in GA. No snow.. no rain. Just very cold temps. If ya ever get tired of that snow.. go ahead and redirect it this way! hehehe.. I bet the folks here would simply freak out.. they need some excitement around here! *LOL*
Your 'baby' has been repaired! http://www.aota.net/ubb/smile.gif I know that can be time consuming. I have one unit I use over another. I had to get a new hard drive (a bigger one) and I thought I was gonna have fits using my spare. I don't keep all my programs on the spare unit.
Be careful for what ya wish for! http://www.aota.net/ubb/wink.gif Ya might just get that extra snow!!!
How are things with work? Still busy? BTW.. I left you a post in HTML suppport.. about the video files. Thanks for your reply. You are the first one to seem to know about this.
