View Full Version : I'm so sorry, but it's another alignment/table post . . .

I want the top graphic on Who's New (http://www.cgspouses.net/community/people/whosnew.shtml) to appear the same seamless way that Community Main Page (http://www.cgspouses.net/community/index_new.shtml) appears.

Both pages have the same mouseover code, the same table structure, the same diced up graphics, and the same very frustrated author . . .

At least this time, it doesn't seem to be a browser issue, as I am getting the same fixed/broken results in both IE and NS. Both pages validate just fine.

Rant rant rant.

Back in awhile, thanks for any amazingly stupid errors you can point out for me . . .

Hi Mandi,

It may help to keep the header images in the same table.

Justin was right on the mark, IMO, about the "white space" problem. I've often found that butting the cell tags <td>right up against their contents</td> and keeping "sections" of the page that need to line up with each other within the same table solves most alignment issues.

Anyway, hope that helps. :)

Well, it does seem to do the trick, putting all the images into the same table. It's just so frustrating when you get away with something on one page, but not another . . . and can't discern a good reason for the difference!!!

Thanks for tipping me in the right direction . . .

Mandi,

I was off taking a look at your pages and reaching the same conclusions. I used BBEdit (Mac) to do a comparison of the two files and, other and some white space, found no differences. I even applied the white space to the other file, but it made no difference in how it rendered. Perplexing!

Anyway, I really felt you should have all your images in one table, so I took the liberty of going ahead and doing it for you. You can find it here (http://kidcafe.tv/table.html) and just view the source and copy and paste as needed, that is, if you still need it.

Good luck,

John
