images not showing

i am just getting my site up and running. i have a UBB which was moved from my old host. all the text files such as recipes [which were added by me] transferred and i can see and read them.
however, i have a photo album attached to my UBB and i can see none of the images, although the titles of the photos are there.
i have been unable to locate the image files anywhere on my site so far.
any new images i have been putting in an 'images' file in the /www file, and those are visible.
does anyone have any suggestions?
