I recently set up a new FQ account and uploaded the files. Changed nameserver info at NetSol. WHOIS now shows FQ.
Problem is, I cannot see the new site OR the old site!
I'm using Charter Pipeline ISP. Can someone take a look at
http://www.ncmountainland.net/
and tell me if it comes up? I know that the FQ images folder is called 'images', whereas on the old server it was called 'Images', if someone can tell me what pops up.
I had just assumed that a visitor would see one site or the other, not a blank!

The site doesn't show up for me either -the name can't be resolved. I think it's just a DNS propagation issue. If you ask the nameservers at Futurequest directly *), the name does resolve.
The problem will probably solve itself. It can be hours, it can be longer.

$ host ncmountainland.net ns1.futurequest.net
Using domain server:
Name: ns1.futurequest.net
Address: 63.151.147.2
Aliases:
ncmountainland.net has address 63.236.215.153
ncmountainland.net mail is handled (pri=10) by mail12.futurequest.net
Hello Benson,
I am seeing a nice Picture of a Distinguished Gentleman with a Large Dog and this is the first line of text:
"Mountain Land Company, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, offers mountain land in Ashe, Watauga, Wilkes, Alleghany, Caldwell and Avery counties."
Running a tracert to ncmountainland.net tells me this
"Unable to resolve target system name ncmountainland.net." But running a tracert as follows resolves properly:
X: \>tracert www.ncmountainland.net
Tracing route to www.ncmountainland.net [63.236.215.153]
And finally a whois lookup at NetSol does show the correct DNS entries for FutureQuest, however it also notes:
Record last updated on 05-Oct-2001.
So what you are seeing is a "Dead in the Middle of Propagation" domain. It is not unusual for the 'www' address to resolve while the 'without www' address not to and vice versus.
This is the nature of the beast and I would suspect that within the next 12 - 24 hours or so everything should start working correctly for you.
I hope this helps,
Bob
- Propagation requires patience, I know someone who schedules fishing trips around propagation ;) -

Your site is working great from Texas, Benson. Bob's right, the fish always bite good during propagation, lol.

And from here in Chicagoland, on AT&T/Mediaone cable, the site's visible. (And wow, that's a big dog. His head is twice the size of the guys'. Does the dog have a jockey? :) )
