Why am I getting this message, and how do I correct it? Also, what does this mean from the ezMLM set up page:

If this is an Announcement list, type in the email address that is allowed to send to this list. This address also sets the Owner property, so if someone sends an email to arediscussions-owner@mlm.63.144.222.194 it will forward to this address automatically.

If this is an announcement list, make sure you specify the same email address that you have set in your email program for your From: address, not your Reply address. Also, although email addresses are not case sensitive, the checking of the From: address is case sensitive. So make sure you type it in exactly as you have it in your email program.

Finally, your owner address can be ONLY the email address, without the name portion.
Ex: support@futurequest.net
I put in my own address (cuppajoey@aol.com), but I still get the mailer daemon. What's going on?%)

Hi again Jo :)

This time it's not your fault ;)

You can setup everything in your CNC email manager using your IP address for access, with the Exception of mailing lists.

One, FutureQuest does not support the use of IP addresses for sending/retrieving email and Two, when your domain name resolves they will be broken anyway.

This will have to wait until you are able to access your CNC via the URL rather than the IP address.

I hope this helps,
Bob

Ok ,so how do I set this up so it does not use my ISP address, but uses my own address? I am able to access my website online now.Association of Remedial Educators (http://www.remedialeducators.com)

Hi Jo,

Simply go to http://www.remedialeducators.com/CNC/ and log in.

Delete/remove any mailing lists you already setup and then set them up fresh and you should be good to go.

Enjoy,
Bob

WHAT do I do now????
Read the directions carefully within the CNC Mailing List Manager... :QTrtfm:

I honestly believe that the documentation/help text within there is very detailed and informative to the point of almost being overly robust in quantity of help guidance... :)

I took a look at your CNC Mailing List Properties, and sure enough:
These are the properties of your mailing list arediscussions.

Type of list: Discussion
List Owner:
Archive Messages: Yes
Users can (un)subscribe: No
Number of Subscribers: 0
List Address: arediscussions@mlm.remedialeducators.com

The culprit is:
Users can (un)subscribe: No

This should be Yes, unless you want to subscribe all of your users manually...

Hope this helps to guide you in the right direction...

Terra, that is exactly what I WANT to do. I want to be able to approve the subscribers because we only want ARE members allowed to be on the discussion board. So how do I go about that?:\

Good Morning Jo,

The current version of ezMLM that we use at FutureQuest does not have provisions for automatically setting up what you are seeking.

Most likely the best method of accomplishing what you want would be to simply leave your list as is and then place a formmail script form that would send you an email requesting to be added to the list.

An instant form generator that creates the required html code for the preinstalled formmail script here at FutureQuest may be located here:
http://www.aota.net/Pre-Installed_Scripts/instantmailform.php3

Then upon receiving a request to be added you would decide to allow or not, if allowed to be added then you would have to visit your CNC and manually add the new email address. This would also apply to someone who requested to be removed.

Hope this helps,
Bob

- Yep I know, more to learn ;) -

Ok did that, no problem...hey, could I actually be getting the hang of this? Nah.....%)

Another question....When the person sends the form to me, the page goes to a THANK YOU page, which is fine, but I would like to customize that page in the same colors and font that I have on all my other pages. Where is that thank you page (I can't find it in my CNC File Manager)?

Easy one Jo :)

http://www.aota.net/Email/formmail.php3

About 1/2 way down the page under redirect

Sounds to me like you may be making progress :QD:
