I have just started the process of transferring my site to this host. After the updates are completed by Network Solutions, does Future Quest automatically transfer all my files or do I have to transfer them?

Second, I run a UBB Forum made by InfoPOP on my site. What precautions should I look out for during the transfer? Will I have to reinstall such script on this new server or edit the script files from my old hosting company to this one?

Thanks
Aaron

After the updates are completed by Network Solutions, does Future Quest automatically transfer all my files or do I have to transfer them? FutureQuest does _not_ transfer your files for you. This is something you will need to do and I would strongly advise downloading them from your old host immediately to avoid any complications with retrieval later.

There are quite a few others who have worked with the UBB so I'll let them respond in that area

First, download your files from the old provider ASAP as that is extremely important for you to do. You may also go ahead and start uploading them to your FutureQuest account now by using the IP address provided within your activation letter.

Hi Aaron!
You will need to just upload the old files (you will need to upload you old ubb cgi files aswell as your noncgi directory (ubb noncgi).
You will also need to go through your UBB control panel and update your paths to FQ's. They will resemble /big/dom/xdomain/cgi-bin/pathtoubbcgifiles and /big/dom/xdomain/www/noncgiubbdir
Any other questions relating to the UBB can be posted on our support forums at http://ubbforums.infopop.com
Hope this helps :D

If you have a slow connection and are worried about the time downloading and uploading all your files, you may find this post by Juston helpful regarding how to transfer your files directly:

(it will only work easily if you had telnet access to the old host since I think server to server ftp transfers are mostly out now.)
