Anyone wanna share favorite vendors or brands? I currently have a Dell Inspiron 3200, PII 233 mHz . . . I am running out of space on my 3.2 gig HD. I'd like to go AT LEAST 10 gigs, but suspect that over 50 gigs is easily found these days.
Budget will be in the neighborhood of $150, because I also think I need a Handspring Visor in color :o ! (But lemme know if that's an unrealistic figure!)
I love my Dell, but their website is just awful to try and find anything on :mad: !
I know what you mean about running out of space - I've bitterly regretted speccing only a 6Gb disc for my Dell Inspiron 3800 when I bought it last May. Fortunately, zapping Windows has freed up a bit of space.
Still, if you can find them, Dell do sell refurbished HDs for the Inspirons - I found a 10Gb disc for my 3800 for $169. I shan't offer a direct link since it's not relevant, but the navigation path was -
www.dell.com, selecting US
=> Software and Peripherals
=> Home & Home Office
=> Parts for Your Dell
=> enter model description or service tag
... then scroll through the parts for that system.
Don't know about their prices, though. I'm a bit miffed they're out of batteries at the moment too.

The navpath is extremely helpful, I appreciate that. I'd appreciate it even more if the Dell site were up at the moment, but we can't have everything, can we :D??
Refurbished would be fine with me; the whole machine is refurbished to start with.
All my other raves about the Dell machines aside . . . I am not really very pleased with my battery. It's pretty much toast, after just a while of use. I think I gave it a "memory" by not running it into the ground all the time. I should pick up one of those sometime too. I notice them frequently on Ebay.

Curse that automatic URL recognition!
My battery is currently down to a mere twenty minutes use after fifteen months of action. Theoretically, with it being lithium ion, it shouldn't suffer from memory effect, but then also theoretically it should last three years which it plainly hasn't.
Given the short life of this current battery, I would be very wary indeed of buying one second hand.
