Hi Clint,

The brand sounds vaguely familiar, but I have no experience with them.[nbsp][nbsp]I'm waiting for my new Midwest Micro to arrive, so I can't yet give a review...[nbsp][nbsp]However, it's price compares pretty favorably to what I see for Quantex, and the few reviews I have seen are quite good.[nbsp][nbsp]You might want to take a look at:

I have a Quantex. Decent computer for a decent price. Completely awful, clueless, uncooperative tech support. I had better luck back in the days when I had a Packard Bell. So, if you want better support try a different brand.

One warning: If you do buy a Quantex DO NOT get the upgraded 17" monitor if you intend to ever use 1024X728 or higher resolution. It's decent at 800X600, but completely fuzzes out at anything higher. Either stay with the base 17" or go with a 19".[nbsp]

Clint,
[nbsp][nbsp] I've had quite a different experience with my Quantex.[nbsp][nbsp]I upgraded to the better 17" monitor, and I've run 1024x768 since the day I got it.[nbsp][nbsp]The only thing I've ever had a problem with (I got it almost 1 year and a half ago) was the fan in the power supply.[nbsp][nbsp]But I replaced that ($20)-- which would have been covered by my warranty if I wasn't so lazy.[nbsp][nbsp]I've put TONS of stuff in my PC, and I've yet to have any conflicts or problems.[nbsp][nbsp]I've had to call tech support once, and it was just as good as any other tech support I'd ever recieved... they figured it out for me almost right away.[nbsp][nbsp]I'd definitely recommend them, especially for their awesome prices.

Does anybody has a Quantex computers? Anyone has good or bad to say about them?[nbsp][nbsp]I went their site the other day and seem to offer a good computer at what seems to be a good price.

Thanks and appreciate your time,

If yours is a year and a half old, that explains the difference of opinion on the monitors. Quantex changed to different monitor models 8 or 10 months ago and the currently available upgrade on the 17" is awful. I'll be happy to cite about 50 independent reviews that concur with that assessment. I just wish I had read them before I bought the darn thing. Sadly, it was brand new at the time and reviews were not available, so I took a chance and got burned.[nbsp]

I too have had terrible phone support with Quantex.[nbsp][nbsp]What in the world is the deal with putting "barely english speaking" people on the phones ?? !! It's rediculous some of the people used for phone support.

To anyone who has a little knowledge in PC's, I would recommend buying pieces. If you know your hardware, you'll get a high quality machine.

I personally have been doing online business with www.neutronet.com (http://www.neutronet.com) for over 7 years now. I must have ordered 15+ computers and a ton of parts from them. If you can't build a pc from scratch, neutronet will assemble and test everything for $35 - $45.
