I'm going to buy a copy of VB, and I notice they have an affiliate scheme so someone may as well get a kickback from my purchase!
FutureQuest isn't in the scheme (which they should be because this forum is going to sell a lot of VB installations!), but I'm sure someone here must be . . .
First one to reply gets my order through their affiliate link!

Hi John,

But in all fairness FQ probably deserves it more since I only purchased VB after FutureQuest made the change (that same day even!)
P.S. Thanks!
I'm just chiming in to say that I've heard of great comments about the results of VB's affiliate program. Two webmasters with webmaster-related sites told me they had been able to get $150-$225 CPM by heavily plugging VBulletin for a few weeks.
It sounds insane, but I believe it is a case of matching very targetted visitors with a commissioned high-end product. I wouldn't expect these kinds of results from a the program if your site was geared toward directed towards anything else.
I also suppose the webmasters visiting the site were thoroughly impressed by the board they were on (and how fast the search feature was!) and decided to switch to the same program once their UBB licenses were up.

:) I can just see Deb running to add a text ad to the bottom of every page of the board. :)

OK Jeff -- the deed's done! Commission for one purchased licence coming your way :D
Tatu, you're right that FQ really should do this. Jelsoft should have paid to have VB here anyway, after all you couldn't find a much better, closely targetted audience if you tried!
I've just downloaded the script and I am already impressed with the documentation and attention to detail.

Well I'm too late to win the McDonald's Money but yes, I've gone ahead and signed us up. The Powered By vBulletin (http://www.qksrv.net/click-51479-804495) link in the footer is now attached to our affiliate link...
Thanks ;)

I've got VB up and running with all my UBB users and messages intact.
The import routine is awesome, and even brings across the forum structure, style settings, colour schemes, graphics, the lot!
I am very impressed.
John
BTW If anyone else goes this route, you need to make sure that the UBB files are on the same server as your VB installation otherwise it doesn't work -- it needs file paths not URLs! If I'd realised that straight off I would have been in bed long ago instead of sitting here at past 2am . . .

Great idea. I suppose a commercial endeavor such as this wouldn't be able to make the ad a little bigger... that little link still might be well worth it, though.
EDIT: Noticed the qksrv.net link. Realized the typo....
