Who is installing the secure certificates for FutureQuest now?
We were told by FutureQuest that Rich Shockney was who you authorized to do this now, paid him and paid Equifax Secure almost 3 weeks ago and now our cert has expired, we need explanations now!

I have the cert, if someone can explain where the heck I find it inside our control panel I will install it myself. I have looked all over and can't find it in there.

I have responded to your email concerning this issue...

It would be best to contact Rich to see what the current situation is and as I noted in the email, if there is something futher required from FutureQuest he will let us know and/or provide you with the information to do so.

Since you worked with him, it is of course best to contact him again to see what the status is...

I'll contact him and Equifax. And we had to pay him two different payments.

We only worked with him because y'all told us to since y'all don't do it anymore. When we had y'all install it the first time we had no problems at all.

If someone will just tell me where to paste this cert in I'll do it myself so we don't lose sales over the weekend.

I will not update a CERT unless we are explicitly sent an email to:
service@FutureQuest.net

and requesting as such...

We used to automatically do this, until complaints were received that they did not want the CERT switched out yet...

I will assume that your first post is a gentle request for me to go pull the CERT from Equifax and perform the upgrade...

I will place this on my ToDo list for later on tonight...

What it all boils down to is some miscommunication between us in how the CERT upgrade procedure works as we do not track the CERTs progress... This is the responsibility of the site owner... FutureQuest simply performs the CERT upgrade upon request - no more - no less...

In short:
1) Obtain an updated CERT from your CA
2) When CERT is completed, send an email to service@FutureQuest.net requesting upgrade
3) I will wait until I have both the KEY, completed CERT and your request before installing it

Yes, just forward it onward to the service desk and I'll go ahead and update the CERT/KEY set...

THANK YOU!!

I just emailed the certs to you, didn't forward it so those little <'s wouldn't be on it. If you need the original email from Equifax just email me and I'll send it to ya.

I'd kiss you but then I would have to dodge those bullets from Deb! :o

It seems that no matter what part of "security" you deal with, it's always complex.

Based on the posts I've read here and the e-mail exchange in this particular case, I will be updating the confirmation e-mail when you order a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) to include the following information:

(1) If this order is for a new certificate, you must:
(a) Submit the CSR to the CA (Certifying Authority -
Thawte, Verisign, Equifax, etc.) of your choice
to create a certificate.

(b) submit an order to FutureQuest, Inc. (URL) to have
the certificate installed.

[The above part is now included in the confirmation e-mail]

(2) If this is a renewal order, you must:
(a) Submit the CSR to the CA (Certifying Authority -
Thawte, Verisign, Equifax, etc.) of your choice
to create a certificate.

(b) Send an e-mail to FutureQuest, Inc. (EMAIL ADDRESS)
to inform them that you want the certificate
installed.

Hopefully, this will help clarify what needs to be done for both new cert orders as well as renewal orders.

<sales pitch>
At RS Marketing (and I believe I speak for FutureQuest here, too), we take your e-commerce downtime seriously. Site downtime has a serious impact to your Internet cash flow, which for some of us, is our entire cash flow. This is the lifeblood of your business and we will do everything we can to help you "stop the bleeding."
<end sales pitch>

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help in this specific situation.
