OK, silly question here ;). I'm getting a referrer in my stats that does not have any links to any of my sites (at least their webmaster said so). I am wondering...if there is someone on futurequest surfing my site, would futurequest show up as a referrer? Their domain name is one of their servers just as futurequest's...I'm just trying to figure out the connection here...%)
TIA!
Best always,
Joi~

Another referrer question: what do these mean?
wysiwyg://70/ or wysiwyg://435/ ...etc. ?
TIA,

Well the "no link to your site" referrer is most likely due to someone probably viewing that site then either manually entering a URL to your site to visit or use a bookmark.
The FQ thing... I must be out of it as you confused me. Actually I've seen AOTA.net as a referral... so don't think there should be any difference there than a normal referrer.
The wysiwig I do believe is someone viewing one of your pages in a Wyiswig HTML editor or such... at least that's my guess.
Note: remember I know nothing..lol

LOL...sorry about that ;)! I have this nuclear energy site in my referrer list for the past couple of months. I thought there was a link from my site somewhere, but their webmaster has said no. Their domain name is also the name of one of their servers, as FQ has. So, I was wondering if that was the reason their site was showing up in my stats.
See what happens when I let my mind wander...%)
Hi Joi~,
Here is an explanation of this strange URL: http://help.netscape.com/kb/consumer/19971015-1.html

That's funny. So, it's from people who are still using NS 3 to view sites? I'm floored.

Have also a look at this page (http://web-wise-wizard.com/internet-web-www/internet-rough-guide-url-protocol-urls.html). There is a hint that perhaps other applications might use this strange syntax too.
