Now they're sending spam that spoofs the layout of a PayPal payment received message, with identical subject and very similar looking start to the message, except that you have to page down to see the gist of it...

I wonder how many people will instinctively click on the link thinking they are checking on their account info?

One of the oldest trick on the Internet is to send people an official looking page (aol, paypal, etc. login) to make them think they are logging in to their account. After you login you probably recieve an error page, but in the background your login, credit card number is send to the criminal. So don't be surprised to find your paypal/credit card account heavily charged very soon after you logged into such a page. :waa:

Don't worry, I had no intention of clicking on their supplied link. I already disposed of the message, but I think it may have actually been an email link for more info, not a URL, which seems rather strange for spam of that sort.

Actually, I'd guess whoever sent it is not the most intelligent spammer. They didn't think to send it with a disguised FROM name to show in place of their obviously spammish email address, which was an immediate clue something was fishy.
